The Anglican Board of Mission (ABM) Australia visited the Diocese of Kurunagala as part of its Pilgrimage Tour 2026, strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Anglican Church of Australia and the Church of Ceylon. ABM is the national mission agency of the Anglican Church of Australia, supporting mission, theological formation, and community development through partnerships across the Anglican Communion.
The visiting delegation met with the Bishop of Kurunagala and the Archdeacon for collaborative discussions on future ministry and development opportunities. Conversations focused on how the Diocese and Anglicans in Development (AID) can work together to strengthen sustainable, community-led initiatives that promote education, resilience, and the well-being of vulnerable communities. AID is ABM’s development agency, dedicated to supporting grassroots development through local Anglican partnerships.
As part of the pilgrimage, the delegation visited Bishop’s College, Kurunegala, where they observed the encouraging progress of the school and learned about its ongoing educational ministry. The visit provided an opportunity to witness the impact of the Diocese’s commitment to nurturing young people through quality education and holistic Christian formation.
